The second of our first two workshops will be held on December 1st. These specially created workshops are open to all breast cancer survivors, as well as their friends and family in their support networks. Each workshop features two guest presenters, specialists in their fields, and cover topics to help you promote wellness of body, mind and spirit following breast cancer treatment.
Workshops include lunch selections provided by Pita Pit, including vegetarian options, as well as coffee, tea, water and snacks.

We’ll start the day with a 1-hour therapeutic yoga workshop designed specifically for breast cancer survivor athletes. This session will highlight the healing power of yoga while focusing on restoring strength, flexibility, and vitality after treatment. Suitable for both experienced yogis and yoga newbies. Please note: A yoga mat is required – when registering, let us know if you need one provided for you.
Presenter: David Newton – Longevity Specialist, Neuroplasticity and Equilibrium Coach, Movement Therapist, and Reiki Master.
David has worked in the fitness and wellness industry for over 40 years. He holds certifications in personal training, group fitness, Body Training Systems, Ashtanga and Hatha Yoga, and Human and Equine Reiki. He is the sought-after creator of Therapeutic Yoga, a program designed to change the way we love and live in our gracefully ageing bodies.
This 1-hour workshop will provide an introduction to the Wellspring Nourish program, and will provide up-to-date information on healthy lifestyle factors, how to build meals and choose foods to optimize health, as well as hot topics such as inflammation, soy, and sugar. Our presenter, Shauna will provide a live recipe demonstration with food samples.
Shauna will be presenting as a Nutrition Leader at Wellspring, which has graciously covered the cost of her presentation.
Presenter: Shauna Lindzon – Consulting Dietitian
Shauna is a Registered Dietitian with over 30 years of nutrition experience. She has worked at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre as a Clinical Dietitian and in the community as a Culinary Dietitian. Shauna is a program developer and nutrition leader at Wellspring Cancer Support Network. Her cooking demonstrations combine scientific knowledge with culinary education and in an easy-to-follow format which is inspirational, educational, and entertaining. Our first presenter of the day, Dr. Liza, will provide a 1-hour presentation with hands-on demonstrations of treatments that may benefit breast cancer survivors post-treatment, good posture practices, lymphatic drainage and gentle myofascial release.
Presenter: Dr. Liza Egbogah – BSc, DC, DOMP, body and posture expert, manual osteopath, chiropractor, myofascial release therapist, designer of dr LIZA shoes & bags and guest lecturer at OCAD university.
Dr. Liza is an award winning manual therapy expert, media contributor, clinician and workshop presenter. She has extensive experience consulting with senior executives, celebrities and professional athletes on health matters, injury treatment and prevention, and stress reduction strategies.
This 1 hour and 15 minute experiential workshop will include a description of how sound healing works, a body scan to relax as participants prepare to go into the experience, and a 45 minute sound bath meditation. Please bring a yoga mat, pillow and (optional) blanket. Please note: A yoga mat is required – when registering, let us know if you need one provided for you.
Presenter: Rufus Glassco – Sound Healing Practitioner
Rufus is a trilingual Drum Circle Facilitator who specializes in drumming for health and wellness. He is a Sound Healing Practitioner and a Shamanic Coach, and helps both individuals and large groups to relax, and come into greater resonance and harmony. Rufus is a singer-songwriter and multi-instrumental percussionist who uses a wide variety of sound healing instruments to create soundscapes that create a multi-layered sonic journey which transports sound bathers to a deeply relaxing place.
Each workshop is $45.00, or sign up for both and pay a discounted price of $80.00.
