Ways to Give

Your support helps keep us paddling.

Dragons Abreast is a 100% volunteer-based, member-run team. As a registered charity, we rely on corporate and private donations, as well as team fundraising, to meet our financial and admin needs. It’s through the generosity of our sponsors, partners, and supporters that we are able to help breast cancer survivors in the Toronto area improve their fitness and quality of life.

Funds raised are used to:

  • Help purchase needed gear, such as paddles, PFDs, and racing jerseys
  • Help cover paddling club membership dues
  • Help cover racing costs and registration fees for events
  • Help cover our financial and admin needs to run the team
  • Help keep dragon boating inclusive and affordable for all our paddlers
  • Helps pay for trained coaches for practices and at races
  • Help us provide education and outreach to raise awareness of breast cancer prevention, available support and the benefits of team membership
  • Help us expand our outreach to survivors in Indigenous and Multicultural communities
  • Help us promote the benefits of exercise for survivors and demonstrate that there is life after breast cancer

Thank you to our sponsors. We couldn’t do this without you!

It takes a team to keep a team going. We are grateful for the generous and ongoing support of our sponsors. Not only do you keep us paddling, you help us continue our journey of education and awareness that it is possible to live a full and active life after breast cancer.

Our Sponsors

Anita Canada has been Dragons Abreast’s major sponsor since 2017. They specialise in top-quality lingerie and swimwear and highly functional sports bras and shapewear for special purposes, including mastectomy bras and swimsuits. As well as annual sponsorship funding, Anita Canada fits each of our team members with a complementary sports bra, prosthesis (if needed), and compression leggings. It’s a perfect union, as members of Dragons Abreast volunteer their time to model Anita’s products at training sessions for their retailers, and participate in educational podcasts. We thank Mark Caskenette, Managing Director and Ingrid Carreres, Bilingual Training & Development Manager, for Anita’s generous and ongoing support to our team. Anita also donated 100% of the profits from their award-winning photography book featuring Dragons Abreast members, Beautiful Body, Unbreakable Spirit, to our Trent-Severn Waterway Fundraising Adventure and to other dragon boat teams.
